The Nokia is renowned for its manufacture of mobile phones. The company has now created a new mobile phone named C1-01. It is an impressive handset with unmatched performance. The C1-01 is a revised model of the C1-02. The features of the newly revised handset is similar to the C1-02 expect for the inclusion of the camera. It cannot be compared with the C1-00 as it has a separate feature set and design. It is available in India for a cost of Rs.3500. It includes a BL-5CB battery, an AC-3 compact charger and a stereo headset WH-102 in the package. The C1-01 will be available for sale in the fourth quarter of 2010.
Features
The C1-01 measures 108 x 45 x 14 mm in dimension. It weighs 78.8 grams only. The handset comes in a variety of colors such as Midnight Blue, Red, Warm Grey and Dark Grey. The model number is engraved at the top left corner of the handset. There is a center navigational key with two soft keys and a call and end key. It uses a TFT color display that measures 1.8 inches. The display has a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and it supports 65 K colors.
The C1-01 has an Opera mini web browser with the XTML, HTML, CSS and WML supports. It also has a stereo FM radio with RDS support and supports FM recording. The handset has an internal memory of 64 MB for the storing up to 1000 contacts and also for call records. The messages menu supports SMS, MMS, email and instant messaging. The emails are supported by the POP3, IMAP and SMTP protocols. The built in audio player supports audio files with the AAC+, MP3 and WAV formats while the video player supports videos with only the H.263 format.
The camera stores images with the GIF, JPEG and BMP formats while the videos are saved in the 3GP format. The handset can perform in the speakerphone mode also. It uses vibration, MP3 and polyphonic ringtones for alert types. The handset is equipped with features such as speed dialing, conference calling and integrated speakers. The organizer has basic management applications like Clock, Calendar, Calculator, World Clock, Alarm Clock, Unit Converter, etc. It also has the voice memo feature. The C1-01 supports Class 10 GPRS of 32 kbps to 48 kbps and Bluetooth version 2.0 connectivity options.
Dual sim phones are the result of today’s technology. If you have two numbers of your own, both equally important, or one that you don’t want people to know about, then dual sim mobiles are the perfect option for you.
Dual sim phones are also the ideal option for business men who have a large clientele and got two numbers most of the time and hence need to attend to business. For now, Nokia has only announced two Dual Sim phones, which are Nokia C2-00 and Nokia C1-00, some might claim that C1-00 lacks the true purpose of dual sim phones, which is having both sims active at anytime. Before we look at these handsets in more detail, we have to say that we think that the model names indicate the mess that Nokia have made with their new naming conventions. The C1-01 is the one with the camera, the C1-02 is the one without.. although you would expect it to be the other way round from the 01 and 02 suffix. Even more confusingly, neither handset is really related to the double SIM Nokia C1-00 which is a completely different device. It seems to us that Nokia have painted themselves into a corner with these model names.
Anyway, the C1-01 is priced at €39 before tax and subsidy, and the C1-02 at €35. Apart from the camera, both these C1 models have a 1.8" 128 x 160 pixel display, a microSD slot, Bluetooth, a music player, FM radio, GPRS and a stereo wired headset in the box. Talktime is quoted as over 10 hours with a maximum 21 days standby time.
There are two dual-band versions available, depending on region. Both handsets are a very similar size, coming in at around 108 x 45 x 14mm and roughly 78 grams each (although actually the camera on the C1-01 adds 0.2mm and 1.3 grams but it's hardly a big difference).
The C1-01 should be available in two shades of grey, red and midnight blue, the C1-02 in black, dark plum, blue and cool grey.. although colours will vary by region and carrier.
These are two nice looking devices, although the model names are likely to cause some confusion when they come to market. They should be available during the final quarter of 2010.
